Stud Fee and requirements for the 2009/2010 breeding seasonThe Stud Agreement must be signed
An ultrasound test is required to establish that the mare is in foal between 16 to 20 days after the last contact with the stallion and shall be verified or confirmed by a further pregnancy test (manual palpation or ultrasound test) performed between 60 to 90 days of gestation to certify whether the mare is in foal. Unless informed in writing (and with written confirmation from an independent registered veterinary practitioner) before the 95th day after last contact with the stallion, it will be presumed that the mare is in foal. In the event that the mare is certified to be not in foal, according to independent veterinary certification, then the mare owner has the privilege to return the mare for breeding by arrangement with the breeder during the succeeding 12 months from the intended first cover by the stallion. Should there be a live covering planned then the tests below should be carried out and proof of same provided for scrutiny before the stallion is presented.
